A Tribute to Wilt Chamberlain.

Wilt Chamberlain

Wilt Chamberlain

Wilt Chamberlian was a great basketball player. He was one of the best big men of all time. Sadly he passed away in 1999. But who was he? Where did he come from? And what made him the person we knew him to be?

Born August 1, 1936 Wilt the Stilt had nine brothers and sisters. He was a rather sickly child. Almost dying of pneumonia when he was young. Despite that fact he was 6 foot by age 10. And 6 foot 11 inches by the time he went to high school.

Even though he didn't take a liking to basketball right away,  that soon changed. His immense hieght made it easy for him to play against others and was good at scoring and blocking shots. In high school he was an amazing player. Even scoring 71 pionts in a game, a high shcool record.

When it was time for him to choos a college there were literally hundreds of colloges that wanted him. But in the end he decided on the University of Kansas. He did many great things for the Jayhawks. Some of them including putting amazing numbers and getting Most Outstanding Player Award for the Final Four.

He didn't finish his Senior year of college and instead went to the Harlem Globetrotters. After that he made his NBA debut with the Philadelphia Warriors. In this first season he went on to average 37 pionts and 27 rebounds.

Throughout his career he had some amazing acheivements. Including averaging 50.4 pionts a game in one season and scoring 100 pionts in one game. He will always be remebered as a great player and a great guy.

My soul need's skiing

Is is it the everlasting need to be outdoors?  Is it gliding through the snow on a 15' inch powder day? Is playing with the mountain and being in it?

Once you get the chance to ski in powder you begin to realize what all the hoopla's about. When it's just you and the mountain. You're in the trees just you and the mountain. And pure silence is softend by freshly fallen snow.

It becomes an addiction. You need it to survive. You need it to relax and be yourself. There's truly nothing like it in the world.

We all get this in different forms. Some yoga, some music, some people even by sports. But whatever the form we need it.

Goodbye Jerry, It's Been Fun.

It's been exactly one week since Jerry Sloan resigned. The loved and cherished coach that everbody in Utah loved for over twenty years. Jerry Sloan has been a winning for as long as anyone can remember. How could this man that has a hard look and cold interviews be the beloved coach of over twenty years.

Jerry Sloan started his career with the Chicago Bulls. In the 60's he was the same player as his coaching style. Defense first and very organized. He became the head coach of the Jazz in 89 and the reast is history.

John Stockton and Karl Malone were the base of Jerry's system. There athletic ability were the key to the Utah Jazz at that time. But it was Jerry Sloan who got them to play as a team. It was Jerry who taught them his ingenious system that has worked for twenty years.

Jerry, we love you because you were the one person who made the Jazz the team we love. Yes, John Stockton and Karl Malone were the people that we looked at and played like; and we love them, we do. But, you made this team great.

Jerry you will be missed.

Is blogging Journalism?

I think it can be. I also think that you can make it not journalism. If your like,  " Hey whats up guys" and blogging about your freinds and using it as your own little facebook then it is not journalism. But if your blogging about serious events that matter to other people then it is journalism.
Journalism is news. If your not blogging about news and instead you 're bloggin about how to fix things in your house then it is not journalism. But if it is actual news then it is journalism.
